Lyrics from her heart to yours!

We all love listening to music, right? But when you listen to a song that really speaks to your heart, it ceases being just a song but living truth because it resonates with your heart and sometimes causes you to reflect on your own life.

Here's a very talented artist/singer, songwriter Jess Lee, who doesn't shy away from wearing her heart on her sleeve. She uses her music to share her struggles, ways to finding freedom and just offering encouragement to others. Her debut EP "Out of Dust" is a true reflection of this struggle and finding a purpose in life.

Listening to her song, "Arms Wide Open" really captured my heart and more so the humble nature of Jess Lee as a musician. Her songs have been played on the nationally recognised UCB2 radio station, featured on BBC Radio (Introducing Cambridgeshire) who also gave her music "pick of the week uploader'!

"Arms Wide Open" was also awarded the #2 spot in the AStepFwd UK Christian Chart.

I had the privilege of catching up with Jess to try and find out more about her journey as a musician and where she gets her passion and inspiration from.

Here's a little bit of what she shared with me.

"I first picked up the guitar when I was 11 and learned how to play when I really should have been doing my homework. For many years, song writing served me as a way to process life with all the questions, hopes and fears that come along the way. For all the uncertainty of life, I always want to point myself back to truth, which is certain and unshakeable; constant, when I feel fragile. I hope that my songs will also point others to the truth."

So, what is this truth? My curiosity drove me to Spotify of course to find her songs so I can hear more about "the truth". I got drawn to her most recent singles, "Make it Out Alive" and "High and Dry" which I thought were so powerful and made me realise how very understated she is as a musician but also how far she is going to go with her music!
