Wildlife is so exciting, and pets are a great addition to a lively home.

But we know that not all of us can afford the luxury of going on a safari or owning a pet in our home. So, what do we do?

We search far and wide until we find our perfect and gorgeous piece of Wildlife or Pet art that we completely connect with and put this in our home to always look at and live that excitement and joy of being in the wild or having a pet.

There's an extraordinary Wildlife and Pet Artist I came across when I was searching for my very own piece of animal art. I was finding it hard to choose between Pet and Wildlife but one day, this painting popped up on my social media feeds and immediately I emotionally connected with it in the deepest way I could never have possibly imagined.

IT WAS THE EYES!!!

Pure love at first art! I just knew that I couldn't rest until I got my horse "Toffee". The emotional connection I immediately made with her was so powerful! But what I didn't expect was that "Toffee" was Nina's first piece that launched her Art career. This made "Toffee" extra special to me as to Nina.

"Toffee is 23x30cm" The Artist Nina Burgess

Speaking to this talented yet humble and graceful animal artist Nina Burgess, I got to understand why the eyes in all her animal subjects are so piercing and draw such a connection to the viewer. They are her favourite part to paint and she spends numerous hours studying them, getting to know the animal better through their eyes.

On an average painting, Nina will spend a generous 20-40hrs studying and painting the eyes, the animal twists and turns, textures and colours.

Here's a snippet of how she perfects those eyes.

Her love of art started when she was a little girl drawing but stopped when she was 14yrs old after emotional trauma. After a long time, self and soul searching, she learnt to lean on her faith for direction and finding her purpose in life. One day, she felt she needed to pick up her pencils and start drawing again, so she did and there's no stopping her!

At the age of 30, she started drawing and painting again using pastels, which are predominantly used in all of her work. She started doing commissions for anyone interested in Pets and Wildlife art. She uses true photo reflections and wild animal references making sure she doesn't add anything more to the animal than what it is represented on the photos or references. Look at these gorgeous pets; cream dog Willow (24x30 cm), cutest cats Layla and Lara (30x40 cm) and adoring Buddy (24 x30 cm)

Her joy of painting comes from knowing each animal painted will bring joy and a real emotional connection without words to the person who buys it. There's a special home for every piece of art. And you can now purchase any of Nina's Wildlife Art.

Which one of these gorgeous animals will you choose for your home, office or for a loved one? Forest Beauty (36x48 cm) Jaguar is sadly sold out now but you can have the beautiful colourful Duck ( 40x50 cm) or a fiercely gorgeous Tiger Eye to Eye (24x34 cm).
